While the thread was started on a light note, I think this is a serious topic.
Most of the people in the developed (and increasingly in the developing) countries are over-weight. I believe people are over weight, because they are not eating good food. People just follow the latest fad (in India this is oatmeal, soybeans etc. for now).
I have successfully managed my weight below 24 BMI for almost a decade now by eating good food. The key is "moderation" and eat unprocessed food as much as possible.
If you have to choose between whole milk and fat free milk, choose whole milk. If you have to choose between red rice and white rice, choose red rice. If you drink, do not drink the cheapest variety. Go for Blue label or Hennessey and drink just a peg a week. Go and eat the most expensive cut of beef and eat just an ounce of it. And for the record, I haven't found anything wrong with traditional breakfast (uppuma, puttu, dosa and what not). If you like the taste of oatmeal go for it, but once in a while.
And do not forget to do some exercise everyday. 30-40 minutes of walk, bicycling, swimming, playing some games; any thing will do.

When had filed my I140 I did send my coworkers reference letter ...yet i got a rfe requesting for employer's experience letter..
I was in a similar but totally different situation. I wanted to use the experience as a Grad. Assistant for my I-140 stage. The problem was, my professor was no longer with the University. My lawyer suggested that I obtain a letter from the professor on a plain paper and make sure that it is notarized. The letter had his address and cell phone number and "Formerly, Asst. Professor at xxx Iniv".
There was no issue with the I-140 approval.

open a infopass, go to a local service center, they will schedule and u get it done, Dont loose this great chance.
I waited, opened SR's with 0 luck. Then i tried above and it worked. Luckily they scheduled same day as inforpass for me.
what options did you choose while selecting infopass appt

1. You need Service on a case that has already been filed
2. You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your permanent Resident Card
3. You want to file an application in person
4. You need information or other services
5. You need a form.

You mean those passing from the likes of TVU and ITU or those from Harvard/MIT ?? How do you define "reputed" US University ? And why do you think clients engage "underskilled" operators and not "skilled" US graduates ? Lower rate ? But then we see so many US graduates languishing in EB 3 ???
BTW, why are you still having a hard time getting visa --- the quota was wide open till January at least .
There is no point blaming on non-US students when US students are making a beeline to desi consultants for H1. May be the law should be -- no consulting job for US graduates.
A reputed university = very few or no gultis. TVU had only gultis...so did not qualify.....

Hi All,
I am an aspiring US immigrant, and currently work with a desi-like employer who has not been paying me for last 3 months. I have resigned and started working at a new employer, using portability options. I will also contact DOL and report this to get my money back, however, DOL may not be able to recover it if the employer files for bankruptcy. I donot care much about money now, as its not too much and my new job increment covers it.
Here are my questions
1) Is there a way i can report this misdoing to USCIS directly. Is there any phone number/contact info to report frauds on I-140s and I-485s as he is holding some employees hostage (not allowing them to move out because of this situation where your money is stuck and so is your immigration).
2) What else should i do to make this injustice visible? I will work with DOl and get my money back.
3) I am thinking of reporting this directly to the I-140 processing centers. Is this is a good idea?

I would suggest getting something in writing and filing a complaint with DOL.
I think Lou Dobbs will be happy to report H-1B abuse :)
If you are from Iowa or Illinois, your Senators might also be interested to help bring justice to such employers :)
