Freedom1 - I received similar message and since I moved, I have not got any notice from USCIS. How long did it take for you to get the notice? Did the notice tell to complete any formalities at your local USCIS office?

Would you please tell me if your status is updated yet? If yes, How long did it take from MTR approval to updated status?
I have an approved MTR but it says that they are going to review my I-140. I have no idea how long will it take. Is there any possibility that the deny I-140 after Approval of MTR(I290B)?

Its been 2 years but my I-485 still shows denied although my MTR got approved and i have renewed 2 EADs and 2 APs etc.
Don't know for sure but i sent a letter to whitehouse and they sent a response couple of months later indicating my case is waiting for VISA number and everything else is alright.
And since my EADs and APs are approved in 2 years i am not that worried about online showing denied.

I would assume that it is already decided with the exception that a visa number is not available. So a final judgement is pending availability of visa numbers.

I would love to, as it will help IV community also, but unfortunately it is not very easy in a company to request change of lawyer when the lawyer is good one. I see from many comments here that the Chugh Firm is a good one. And the employer also feels the same. So what grounds can I request them change their processes which they are following for nearly 200 employees. It will be hard. Cant even ask..

The worst lawyer ever possible: never replied to email, never responded to phone and never communicated: what she was doing. She filed my case in EB3 without consulting me or my knowledge even (I had two Masters and international research) and I came to know about it many years later when I thought I could be getting green card any day and guess what i came to know that not from the lawyer but from USCIS.

Whats the process to do stamping in canada ? My visa has expired since Jan' 2008 - is it same like India ? Do we still get stuck with PMIS or is it okay to go on I-94 and keep the same to re-entry if any issues ?
The procedure is same they take ur I-94 and cancel ur current visa first.Some people get their visa done within 1-2 days.Forget about re-entering US when your visa is in "administrative processing"

Titles do matter as they are the first ones to catch the eye. To me it appears you are moving from a PM position to a tech specialist position (at least on paper) and you might have some problems there. If possible, try to request for a title with "manager" in it. If that is impossible, try to go by matching SOC code. Does your prospective employer have a legal immigration team to help out?

Hi everyone:
I have an unusual situation concerning my friend's mother. When he got his green card (about 10 years ago) he filed the green card application for his mother that lived (and still lives) abroad, hoping to alleviate the woes of her getting a short-term traveller's visa every time she traveled to see him.
She received her green card about 4 years ago, but she doesn't want to live in the US for more than a month. Unfortunately it also gets more and more expensive for them to make her travel to US every year, thus pushing her into a violation of her Permanent Resident status and of the recurring Re-entry Permits (that now shrank to a single year).
My friend now wants to suggest his mother to relinquish (i.e. give up) her permanent status but his fear is that once done she will not be able to return back to US to visit him. (He has already become a citizen and is not planning to return to his home country.)
Does anyone here have any suggestions of what could happen if she gives up her permanent resident status?
Cousin went through same situation recently (early 2008). Parents "surrendered" their GC's, to Mumbai consulate general office, and simultaneously applied (same day same time while in the consulate) for Visitor VISA (they were advised about the procedure by Mumbai consulate office via phone, they had called them couple of months before doing this). Visitor VISA was granted without any questions asked.
My parents are thinking of doing the same very soon.

Me and my wife are traveling to India. We are going for visa re-stamping (consular processing).
Based on the information provided below, can you provide lists of forms/docs that we're supposed to carry with us when we visit the consulate for stamping?

You can ask Humana to issue you a letter stating to coverage amount that you will be covered while on your visit to Sweden. When I was traveling to Italy, my insurance company did issue me such a letter & I didn't have to buy anything.

Submitting AR-11 does not help but it is required. I did submit AR-11 still went to my old address. But my EAD/AP approvals came to my new address bcoz of change of address submitted through USPS. USCIS sent me all the confirmation that I have successfully changed my address for EAD/AP petitions, but still managed to send them to my old address.
